Studio Policies

  • All of our artists at Living Lore Tattoo require a deposit to book. Each artist has a different deposit amount, however, all deposits are non refundable. Each artist has their own cancelation/reschedule policy, so be sure to ask!

  • Living Lore Tattoo has a ZERO drugs or alcohol policy for both our artists and our clients. If you show up to your appointment obviously intoxicated, hung over, or under the influence, you may be asked to leave and your appointment forfeited or rescheduled at your artist’s discretion.

  • We only accept clients who are 18 years of age or over. There are no exceptions. While it is legal to tattoo minors with a parent or guardian signature in Maryland, this is our personal shop policy.

  • Our studio minimum is $200. Our artists each have their own rates, either hourly or fixed-rate, depending on the project. We do our best to estimate a final price for a tattoo if asked, but because it is impossible to know exactly how long a tattoo will take, the final price of your tattoo may differ from your estimate.

  • While we do take on coverup projects at Living Lore Tattoo, each artist is different . Some artists may not take on any coverup tattoos—it just depends on the tattoo that needs to be covered and whether the artist would like to take on the project. If you have a tattoo that you’d like covered up, don’t hesitate to reach out so that we can assess the project and hopefully take care of it for you!

  • If you got a tattoo at Living Lore Tattoo and you feel it needs a touchup (or your artist already let you know that you’ll need a touchup), please contact your artist soon after your tattoo has healed so that they can assess the tattoo and determine if a touchup is necessary. Free Touch-ups are available within a year of receiving the tattoo. All touch-ups of work done at Living Lore Tattoo are free of charge, provided that aftercare instructions were followed, and the tattoo was not placed in an area prone to inkloss*.

*Hands, fingers, lower edges/soles of feet, etc. Your artist will warn you of potential issues when consulting for a tattoo in those areas.

  • Please know that you may not receive a response to any submitted correspondence right away. All of our artists are booked out multiple months in advance, so it may take them multiple days to respond to inquiries. We do our best to give priority to questions about aftercare and projects we are interested in, but if you submit an inquiry, you will be contacted!

  • All artists at Living Lore Tattoo have their Blood Borne Pathogens certification, and are CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.

  • While the Department of Health does not regulate tattooing in Maryland, there are certain laws that must be adhered to, and certain signage that must be posted. Please familiarize yourself with the required safety notices posted on the wall at the studio. We take hygiene and safety very seriously at Living Lore Tattoo, and follow all regulations and recommendations put in place by the Department of Health regarding the safe handling and disposal of biohazard materials, cross contamination protocol, and incident reporting.
